Stay pumped for the big game, no matter what's wearin' ya down

With game day around the corner, you need to get hyped up! But how can you stay energized with all of these tests and assignments coming up? We know you’re tired, but here are a few ways to keep you feeling like a champion for the big game.

Start getting sports-ready weeks before the game by staying in shape. Invite your teammates to work out at the gym with you or scrimmage on the field. Exercising with the girls will help you stay on task and forget about those cupcakes your mom made. Practice different plays and run them by the coach. He’ll be thrilled that you’re working on your own and you’ll feel super prepared for the big day! Before taking a shower, do a few jumping jacks, crunches, and lunges. It will help keep your body fit for the game and you won’t have to worry about smelling like sweat all day!

Part of staying energized includes eating right. The day of the game, we want you to have a hearty breakfast. Think protein! Scrambled eggs on an english muffin is a good way to start your day feeling strong. For lunch, we recommend you try a healthy refresher like greek salad or sushi with brown rice. It’ll keep you going until it’s time for your afternoon snack. Right before the game, eat something light and sugary like an apple or orange. You’ll feel instantly spirited and ready to play.

You know how athletic you are, but sometimes a little self-motivation can’t hurt. Remind yourself how talented you are every night leading up to the big game. Look at yourself in the mirror and say, “I am a champion. I will not let my team down. I am strong and better than ever. I will be as powerful and as talented as possible because I am a champion.” You are a champion and, if you follow these steps, you will be ready for your game. Good luck girl!
