Do you sweat too much? Here's how to tell

You know that sweating is totally the norm, but if you’re really stressing over it, there may be a problem. Don’t sweat it! We’ve got all the facts and fast-fixes. Here’s how to figure out what’s going on and how to deal.

Normal or not?

Even though it can be yucky and uncomfortable, sweating is your bod’s way of keeping its cool and ditching toxins. Sweating more than usual during certain times in your workout is also super normal and healthy. But if you’ve got pit stains on the brain every time you hit the gym, you might want to look into the issue a little more.

Why the wetness?
There are tons of reasons why you may be sweating more than your pals. Teens are big targets for excessive sweating because of all the hormone changes happening in your bod. Even the foods you eat can be behind it! Stuff like spicy foods and coffee have been shown to make ya sweat. And as with all body functions, everyone’s different, so comparing health with your besties won’t always give you the answers you want.

How to stay dry

Of course, make sure you’re wearing deodorant every day. Ask your doc if you need a prescription strength one. Try applying it at night, to give the active ingredient some time to block the glands. When you’re working out, wear breathable fabrics that’ll keep you cool. And if your feet tend to get some sweat, a bit of baby powder in your shoes will absorb all that moisture and keep ‘em dry.

Just remember…

Lots of stuff happens during puberty that’s annoying- but normal! As always, your body is probably just going through it’s natural changes, but if it’s really bothering you, tell your ‘rents and see a doc.
