5 ways to make the most of your snow day

Just ‘cause ya can’t get to school—or b-ball practice—doesn’t mean you can’t have a blast. When your neighborhood turns into a winter wonderland, there are all sorts of awesome things you can do to get outdoors instead of staying locked inside all day. So go ahead, pack on the layers and get ready to have some fun doing all the things you loved doing as a kid!

Sledding

Pick the steepest hill you can find, grab a sled, trash can lid, tray, cardboard box—anything!—and go slip-sliding away.

Ice skating

If you have a safe pond or nearby indoor rink, lace up your skates, sweeties.

Snowball fight

It’s the only time of year when picking a fight is A-OK. Pelt your pals with powder for a crazy fun time.

Build a snowman

Have a contest with your BFF, sister or neighbor to see who could build the biggest one. Then, dress the snowman up to gain some extra points.

Shoveling

OK, so this one isn’t too much fun when you’re flying solo, but if you grab your girls (or your sibs), you can knock off the driveway in no time and laugh as you go. Just be careful not to strain your back, babes! Bonus: Get up early the day of a snowfall and go door-to-door to ask your neighbors if they’d be interested in paying ya to shovel. Score!
Then when it's all said and done, snuggle up under your fave cozy blanket and have a movie marathon.
