Bein’ a Beach Bum Lately? How to Get Back on Track Fast!

It’s summertime and for some of ya, working out isn’t exactly #1 on your mind. From shoppin’ for the latest summer clothing sales to starin’ at cute lifeguards, it’s tough to find time to workout.

It’s sooo easy to fall into a workout rut. Everyday you do the same exact thing, whether it’s a 20 minute run or an exercise DVD. After a while it gets boring and your bod is so used to the routine (aka, it does less for ya).

Before you ditch your routine, check out our tips for shakin’ things up!

If you’re a tried ‘n’ true runner, bust out your bicycle and get a diff form of cardio in once or twice a week. Or, switch long runs for sprints at the track.

If you’ve spent the summer swimming, try a 25-minute jog with intervals. That means every couple of minutes, you add a burst of speed for 30 seconds. Then, it’s back to jogging.

Been spending your days just lazing around? Just do something! Try walkin’ around the block with friends or fam in the morning or after din (when it cools off outside). Or, plan a trip with your fam to check out a local hiking spot.

Fall classes are likely to start soon at the local YMCA or dance centers. Sign up now for something fun, like kickboxing, spinning, yoga or hip-hop. If you know you’ll be starting a class in a week, you’ll be more likely to workout NOW, right?
