Workouts

A fitness calendar will *totally* organize your life

It's tough to find time for an intense workout every day, especially with school, friends and the upcoming holidays. Not to mention, this chilly weather makes it *way* easier to skip a workout and curl up with some cocoa. Luckily, we've found the best way to manage your time and make sure you're staying on track: a calendar.

According to Safe Teens, the best exercise combo consists of aerobics, strength training, and flexibility/stretching. This may seem overwhelming, but, thankfully, you don't have to do every exercise every day—and actually you shouldn't. It's recommended that you do about 2 1/2 hours of cardio weekly. This can be split up into 5 days of 30 minutes (ideal for weekdays if you have jam-packed weekends), or, if your schoolwork seems to pile up throughout the week, you could benefit more from 30 minutes on Friday, and an hour on Saturday and Sunday.

Stretching should be done daily, but luckily that only takes a few minutes. On the days you don't do cardio, it's smart to work on strength training. Exercises like push ups and planks are great for full-body strengthening, and they aren't strenuous on your joints. By splitting up your workouts into shorter intervals, you'll give your body more time to rest and increase your motivation to work out.

Just print out these cute November and December calendars and you're on your way!

And if you want to take your sweat sesh scheduling to a new level, we *love* the fitspiration journal from fitlosophy. It's a 16-week journal designed specifically to keep your bod (and your brain!) healthy. You can set goals, rate your workouts and nutrition everyday and stay motivated with daily little tips and quotes.
