How can I stop sweating?

I’m 11 and have recently started using deodorant and now I’m sweating so much I get pit stains. I’ve tried three different types of antiperspirants and deodorants and none work.

What should I do? My mom says it’s natural to sweat when I’m nervous, but it has become such a burden.

Sweating is very natural and common, especially during adolescence. You’re getting to an age when your hormones are on over-drive and can cause extra sweating.

If you’re finding that you sweat more when you’re nervous (also common), try working on the root of the prob. What’s making you nervous? How can you get yourself to relax more? Deep breathing in times of anxiety can do wonders.

Have you tried clinical strength deodorant? Dove and Secret both make one that you can get in drug stores. Check with your mom first, since it’s powerful stuff. Maybe you can try only using it a few times a week.

Also make sure to wear breathable clothing. It can be tough in the winter when you pile on the layers outside, and then step inside a steamy warm classroom. But if ya wear comfy cotton, and enough layers so that you can take a couple off when you get indoors, it should make a difference.
