Does eating chocolate really make you have more zits?

Fortunately for all of you choco-lovers, chocolate itself isn’t linked to acne. This is the same for any junk food like French fries, ice cream or chips. No one food can be held responsible for those annoying zits that pop up out of nowhere, but your overall diet can be to blame.

Ask yourself this question: Do you find yourself munching on unhealthy snacks throughout the day? If your answer to that is yes, than your diet is most likely one of the culprits behind your acne. Switching up your diet to include whole foods like raw fruits and veggies and replacing unhealthy snacks with good-for-you munchies will help you banish those bumps.

When it comes to acne, there are some guidelines you should follow to keep your face lookin’ fresh:

Wash your face day and night to unclog pores and zap oil across your T-zone.

Eat a nutritious diet. Your favorite indulgences are fine in moderation, but instead of always reaching for the cookie jar, try snacking on fruits and veggies, and eating well-balanced meals.

Relax. Stress can be a huge factor of acne. Instead of worryin’ about the big zit you just discovered, try to relax (and dab on some acne spot treatment). If you panic, your bod will go into stress-mode, and this could make the pimple worse, or create new ones. Yuck!
