From birth, the skin under your eyes is naturally delicate and thin. However, as we age, the layers of skin and fat under our eyes continue to thin, which causes the blood vessels to become more visible. This gives the appearance of dark circles.

Helpful tips

If the circles under your eyes appear on a regular basis rather than the morning after an all-night cram sesh, consider seeing a doctor. Since there are so many possible causes to the discoloration under your eyes, a doc will be able to better help you discover the true cause of the dark circles.
When it comes to at-home treatments, you can always try the good ol’ cucumber standby. Place to fresh cucumbers over your eyes and the dark circles and see if that helps the discoloration to fade.
