I need longer pads! How do I tell Mom?

So I got my first period this week.. and my mom and I went to the store and got some U by Kotex Tween Pads. They are really good but not long enough! Every time I changed I leaked...and I tried not to change TOO much because I was running out of pads. How do I tell her I need longer ones next time?
Take a deep breath and just tell her. Companies make extra-long pads for a reason--and trust us, your next period will be way comfier if you don't have to worry about leaking every time you swap out your pads.  If it's just too embarrassing, send her a quick text or tuck a note into her purse, where she--and ONLY she--will find it. Congrats on your first period, babe!
