Iconic Y2K teen movies you *need* to watch

Growing up is not easy. However, coming-of-age movies can make it considerably easier. Plus, since we're at home all the time now, you don't even need an excuse to stay in and watch movies all day anymore.

Come along for a blast into the past to easier times, and explore these *unforgettable* masterpieces with us.

This movie is funny and touching in the *best* ways. It’s filled with an incredible rock soundtrack, but you don’t have to be a fan to love this film. Set in 1973, it chronicles the story of a 15-year-old William, who somehow manages to get an assignment from Rolling Stone.

Bring It On (2000)

The best cheerleading movie of all time, Bring It On is endlessly entertaining. Just like its characters, it has spunk, sass and killer cheer routines. This teen girl classic is a Y2K fave and we’ll *never* get sick of it!

13 Going On 30 (2004)

Follow 13-year-old Jenna in this comforting yet wild adventure as she is transformed into a 30-year-old, and transported into a world with adults almost more childish than her. The absurd situation in this movie guarantees laughs and its adorableness almost promises a smile on your face.

Legally Blonde (2001)

Bend and snap your way to the TV to watch this triumph. Bubbly, blond Elle Woods embarks on a quest to get into Harvard in order to win back her ex, battling against nasty stereotypes along the way. Between silliness and charm, this movie is literally *impossible* to hate.

10 Things I Hate About You (1999)

A personal favorite, the reimagined adaptation of Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew delivers the perfect dose of sister drama, witty convos and essential life lessons. This coming-of-age rom-com changes the game, and will *def* leave you swooning.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005)

Friendship and denim—what’s not to like? A pair of jeans catalyze a series of lesson-teaching events for the besties that share them. Besides the fact that some of the biggest names in television star in this film, this friendship has so much chemistry, you may need your lab goggles to watch.

Mean Girls (2004)

The embodiment of iconic, you will literally never get sick of watching this. Tina Fey has seriously outdone herself in this wonder, packing an abundance of indelible lines and fab scenes that are still just as memorable today. If you haven’t watched this absolutely *fetch* cult classic, what are you waiting for?
