Dear Carol

How to beat the bikini blues (a.k.a get *major* confidence)

I like summer but I don’t like the way I look in a bathing suit. Help!

Dear Bikini Blues,

Join the club. Most of us have at one time or another picked a fight with our bodies. But it’s time to make peace. You have two goals. The first is to accept the body you have. Don’t waste time wishing you were taller or shorter or that your breasts were bigger or smaller—that’s a brain drain. The second is to take care of that body. If your idea of exercise is walking to the freezer to down a pint of ice cream, then it’s time to make changes. Exercise more, opt for smaller portions and don’t go overboard with foods that offer way more calories than nutrition. A little discipline will go a long way, and this summer you can hit the beach feeling good about who you are and how you look.
