Take your Zoom calls to the next level!

PSA: life in quarantine is not just about sleeping in and movie marathons.

Unless you've been living under a rock these past few months, you've likely heard of Zoom, the video conferencing company that's recently taken the world by storm. By downloading the Zoom mobile app or creating an account on their website, you can easily start or join a meeting with up to 100 people for 40 minutes (or up to 1,000 with unlimited time if you purchase the Enterprise plan for $19.99/mo/host).

In light of the recent outbreak, Zoom has also developed live daily demos, webinars, video tutorials and on-demand training sessions to ensure your understanding of the program. Although the company is ideal for business meetings and school classes, it can also allow for socializing time with your friends that's otherwise lacking. Change out of your PJs and check out some of our ideas below on how to make the most of your Zoom calls!

Throw a dance party.

Create a custom playlist with your gals via Apple Music or Spotify before the call, and then hop on to dance the night away! Dressing up in glam evening attire is *totally* allowed.

Have a cooking session.

Head online with your friends while working in the kitchen to share what you've been cooking in quarantine. They may even have some tips to offer while watching through the screen!

Take a workout class.

Have one friend share his/her screen with a YouTube video (Blogilates, Pamela Reif and MadFit have tons of options) and follow along with the rest of your best buds. You'll be able to dish all about the most difficult exercises when the class concludes.

Start a book club.

Every week, schedule a time to video chat with your friends and discuss chapters of a book that you all read. See some of our top recommendaitons here.

Host karaoke night.

Take turns sharing your screens with your fave tunes and belt out the lyrics with your besties! The karaoke queen of the evening gets first dibs on next week's song lineup.

Play charades.

Participants guess a specific object or idea that someone acts out in this classic childhood game. This charades generator even picks the words for you!

Schedule a dinner date.

Place your computer on the seat across from you at the dining room table as if you and your Zoom-mates are really at a restaurant. Bon appétit!
