7 ways to make a buck (and have a blast!)

Wanna line your pockets with green without sacrificing your summer fun? No sweat! Here's a slew of ideas to see ya through the months ahead.
Coordinate a car wash

The summer months are an awesome time to make a little moolah while soaking up some vitamin D. Thanks, Mr. Sun! Grab your best neighborhood gals, put on your bathing suits and snag some buckets. It’s gonna be a soapy day!

Run a lemonade stand

People are willing to do anything for a cold glass of lemonade on a steamy summer day…and if that means handing over a buck or two to some cute enterprising chicas like you and your BFF, than so be it! Mix it up with flavored lemonades and some Down South sweet tea.

Host a garage sale

Mom’s been bugging you to clean out the attic for ages, right? Why not make a buck while you’re at it! Team up with neighbors to put on a street-wide yard sale that’ll draw a crowd, guaranteed.

Have a bake sale

Show off your amazing cookie and cupcake recipes for the neighborhood. Offering up some samples and throwing a bake-off contest for the best sweet treat is a great way to get people involved and excited about your endeavor.

Clean out your closet

Take some old clothes to Plato's Closet or a second-hand shop to see if they will accept any of your gently used items. Most will give you cash on the spot. It's almost too good to be true, right?

Snag a summer job

If you are old enough, you should try to get a summer job. See if your neighbors need any help around the house, ask farmers, gardeners and stable owners if they could use an extra hand, and put in an application at the ice cream parlor or pizza place down the street.

Sell those books

Sell your old books to a used bookstore. As long as your books are in good condition, chances are they’ll be more than happy to give ya some cash in exchange for your old paperbacks.
