Here's the tea: everything you need to know about every type of (literal) tea

Get in closer because we have some *serious* tea to spill: tea is amazing.

Teas have been enjoyed for centuries (and we're not talking about the "Detox" and "Skinny" teas). While most have caffeine, some are decaf. And even with that, they're still more beneficial to the body than other drinks. No shade.

If you want to join in the fun, then you *must* try out these 10 tea-licious ones that are just awesome for you. Don't knock 'em until you have a taste.

Black
Time to hop on the bandwagon of the 80 percent who already drink this goodness. The unique color and flavor of this tea range from amber to dark brown and savory to sweet. Its antibacterial and antioxidant qualities help increase alertness, reduce asthma and prevent diarrhea. It also improves blood circulation.

Chamomile
This tea is said to have an earthy taste with hints of apple and floral sweetness. It's airy and light and perf for relaxing. This yellow bud, white petal flower is known for its calming effects. Experts say chamomile can lower stress levels, regulate sleep, protect the skin and soothe menstrual cramps.

Dandelion
Yes, these are the "weeds" you see in your yard. But don't fret, these yellow flowers have lots of benefits. It can detoxify the body, help in weight loss, increase bone strength, regulate digestion and prevent chronic illnesses. (And pro tip: The roots can even be used to brew coffee).

Earl Grey
What a mysterious name, right? This blend's made up of a black tea base with an oil from the rind of bergamot, a citrus-like fruit. It has a mix of bitter, floral and sweet flavors. Experts say earl grey leaves can improve energy levels, fight oxidative stress and relieve anxiety. It is also good for dental and heart health and strengthening the immune system.

Hibiscus
This ruby red tea might be pretty in color, but it does have a sour taste. Some call it the "sour tea" with a flavor similar to cranberry (that isn't too bad). Plus, this special drink can heal inflammatory problems and improve the immune system. It's also packed with rich antioxidants, vitamin C and minerals, which can speed up your metabolism.

Matcha
You probably already heard of this ingredient on Instagram (donuts) or Starbucks (frapp). However, this fine green powder is even better as a tea. Sip. Drank. It has a naturally sweet taste to it and ah-ma-zing fighting power. Matcha's said to help prevent cancer and type-2 diabetes (Better to start early). It also helps with bacterial, fungal and viral infections.

Oolong
Drink up because you're in for a treat. This tea is a combo of black and green tea a.k.a double the benefits. Oolong tea is fragrant with a pleasant aroma and has a fruity flavor. Experts say in addition to the other teas' pros, this one sharpens thinking skills and improves mental health.

Peppermint
Ah, this tingly menthol fragrance is a must as fall settles in. This cup of refreshing goodness has the ability to eliminate inflammation and reduce pain. It also cures bad breath and relaxes the body and mind. As you may have guessed, peppermint tea kind of tastes like gum. Without the chewing.

Rose
Who would've known you can consume such a pretty flower? This red and pink blend is made up of whole rose blossoms or the petals after they're dried. Its subtle and tangy taste can relieve respiratory infections and speed healing. Just like the actual flower, it can stimulate mood. #HappyYouIsTheBestYou. And this beauty is great for your sleep cycle.

Rooibos
This interesting name means "red bush." Rooibos has the ability to basically do what all the others can. Magical, right? It's said to be gentle and smooth with a natural sweetness and slightly nutty taste. This tea can also cure allergies, eczema, insomnia, headaches and premature aging (again, start early).

As with everything, too much of anything isn't ideal for you. So, don't "overdose" on all this tea. Just take it one day at a time...as with everything else. Happy sippin'!
