It's time to reimagine your summer vacay

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, many families' summer plans are officially put on hold. It's OK to be disappointed, but even if your dream trip is cancelled, there are still plenty of ways for you to make this your most memorable summer yet! So grab your sunscreen and blast your fave summer hits because we have 5 ways you can reimagine your summer vacay.

1. Set up your own backyard camp

Are you a big fan of the outdoors? Are you looking for a way to get out of the house and into some fresh air? Try DIYing your own backyard campsite! Pitch your tent and decorate the inside with fluffy pillows, blankets and plenty of bowls for snacks. If you're able to and have an adult's help, start a fire and roast some marshmallows to make the *perf* campfire s'mores.

2. Roadtrip of a lifetime

Talk to your parents about loading up the car for a dream roadtrip! You can make your own snacks and bring plenty of drinks for the road to avoid stopping for food. Bring some extra masks and gloves for when you need to make a pitstop, and make sure you've got plenty of sanitizer. Once you're on the road, you can go anywhere! Take a day trip to the lake, find a cool hiking trail or even just enjoy driving around your town. Music up, windows down and you're ready to roll.

3. Go to a drive-in

If you want to feel like you've travelled back in time, look no further than a drive-in movie theater! If you have one nearby, it can be the perfect Friday night activity for you and your squad. You can watch a movie, laugh and hang out all from the comfort (and socially-safe distance) of your cars! If you don't have a drive-in near you, try setting up your own. All you'll need is a projector, a white sheet and your fave film.

4. Pool day, your way

If you find yourself missing the days of relaxing by the hotel pool, don't panic! You can find inflatable pools online that will let you bring your ideal pool day straight to your own backyard. Whether it be for a relaxing day in the water, or a backdrop for some *killer* Instagram pics, you'll forget you were even supposed to be at a hotel in the first place.

5. Visit a local park

If you can't walk on the boardwalk, go for a walk in the park instead! If you have a furry friend, bring them along with you. Not only will you get to breathe in some fresh air, you might even stumble across something you've never seen before.

If your summer is feeling more like a bummer, just remember that there are still tons of ways for you to make memories with your friends and enjoy yourself...all you need is a bit of creativity.
