5 inspiring women environmentalists to have on your radar

Happy Earth Day! Today and every day, it's super important to honor and celebrate all the amaze environmentalists who are getting their hands dirty to make the world a better place. And bc we're *all* about girl power, who better than rockstar women environmentalists to highlight? Here are five incredible women who are truly changing the world. Whether you give them a follow on Insta, tell your friends and fam about 'em, add pics of them to your vision board or simply admire how awesome they are, they are *so* worth looking up to!

1. Greta Thunberg

We all know and love Great Thunberg, the incredible person who spearheaded the "Fridays for Future" movement (and plays a *huge* role in youth climate activism altogether). And as if that's not impressive enough, she recently wrote a book, too. There's no doubt that she's truly someone worth looking up to!

2. Xiye Bastida

Xiye, a leading voice for indigenous and immigrant visibility in climate activism, is truly incredible. She's an organizer of Fridays for Future, the co-founder of Re-Earth Initiative (which highlights the intersectionality of the climate crisis) *and* the recipient of the 2018 UN Spirit Award. To call this 19-year-old accomplished would be an understatement.

3. Jane Goodall

Jane is truly someone special. You might recognize her as the woman who lived with monkeys, but she's so much more. She founded the Jane Goodall Institute, a global community conservation organization. Jane is a true barrier-breaker for women in STEM and deserves to be known by everyone.

4. Leah Thomas

According to her Insta bio, Leah is an author, climate optimist and environmental justice advocate. But if you take a few minutes to watch some of her informative videos (either on her Insta linked above or on @intersectionalenvironmentalist, which she founded), you'll quickly learn that Leah is much more. She's a kind genius who does meaningful work spreading environmental awareness on and off social media...and we're her biggest fans.

5. Elizabeth Wathuti

Elizabeth, a Kenyan environmental and climate activist, is truly inspiring. She founded the Green Generation Initiative, which is a non-profit and youth-led organization that empowers people to love nature from a young age. She has even planted 30,000 seedlings in Kenya! There is truly no doubt that Elizabeth is changing the world.
