Help your friends score A's...without cheating

You don’t have to be a teacher’s pet to have half the class tryin’ to copy your answers. If you’ve ever been labeled a smartie pants, though, you know how hard it is to keep your school work to yourself and keep your friends happy. We’ve got insider secrets to stop would-be cheaters in their tracks…and help you lend a hand without handing out all the answers.

When they don’t know the answer? Offer to tutor

The best way to get your buds to think for themselves is to show ‘em how it’s done. When a bestie asks for answers to last night’s HW in homeroom, tell her you’re not into sharing…but if she wants, you could hang out after school to help her get the algebra formulas down pat.

When they’re begging for a quick look? Give ‘em a once-over

If a bud sees you’re take-home test sitting on your desk, ready to be handed in, and asks for a quick glance, shrug her off and slip your test into a folder. Peeking equals cheating, so don’t give in. Do offer to skim her work to see if you can point her in the right direction.

When they’re lost before a big test? Call a study group

Your buddies have been flailing all semester long. Now it’s the week before midterms and they look totally lost. Pull together a study group and bring your materials—notes, quizzes, old tests. If you feel comfortable letting others use your work, suggest pooling your resources and quizzing each other or creating fresh flashcards. Everyone will benefit from your right answers, but you won’t be handing them an easy A. They’ll need to learn the material (just like you did) to ace that exam.

What are your best tips, babes?
