Making it Big, premiering today, March 17, fans will get the chance to see how their fave boys (Zach on vocals, Nathan on guitar and vocals, Cameron on bass and Michael on drums) rose to the top.

Through on-air, online and mobile devices, followers will get a peek into the music industry, snagging a behind-the-scenes look at Allstar Weekend’s journey leading up to their album’s June 22 release—from forming the band to their photo shoots and recording sessions.

To get us pumped for the new program, we caught up with the guys and had them spill on everything from their fave performances to, um, which band member cries the most. Check it out…

GL: How did you guys get the name for your band?
Nathan: The inspiration for the name "Allstar Weekend" came from our favorite artist Smash Mouth. Smash Mouth had a song called "Allstar" and that was basically the anthem of our lives. From there we added “weekend” because we want to be notorious for being the life of the party. [Plus] everyone enjoys the weekend.
Michael: We wanted a name that sounded really fun.

What’s one thing fans can look forward to learning about Allstar Weekend on N.B.T. Making it Big?
Cameron: I think that N.B.T. Making it Big will show fans that we are just four normal guys from a small town going on an epic journey. It truly shows everything that has happened to us in the last few months.

Nathan: Fans are going to see many sides of us—from recording in the studio, to just hanging out on the beach and eating at our favorite Mexican shop. Most importantly, they'll see how any dream is possible.

You’ve performed with many of today’s top stars like Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber. Who’s your favorite person you’ve performed with so far and why?
Cameron: My favorite artist to perform with so far was Selena. The whole vibe of the show was out of this world. The lights were awesome, the stage was huge and the crowd was really into it so it felt like a big party the entire time we were on stage. Plus, Selena is a genuinely talented, sweet girl. I was really stoked that she let us play with her.
Zach: We've played all kinds of shows. From opening for Justin Bieber in front of thousands of kids to playing in front of two people in a little club in Arizona, I've found something rewarding out of all of it.

How do you get pumped before a show? Any pre-show rituals?
Michael: I like to crack jokes to make myself feel good because it makes me hyper [and] I love to chew blue gum before I go on stage.
Zach: I just started jump roping before shows. I really like that. I do that and vocal warm-ups, then I'm ready to go.

What’s one thing you always bring with you on the road to remind you of home?
Nathan: One thing that I bring with me on the road is my skateboard. It has San Diego written all over it.
Cameron: Every time we hit the road I never forget to pack my Grinch pajamas.

Out of the band, who do you think is the funniest? Smartest? Most sensitive? Most athletic? Takes the longest to get ready?
Nathan: Zach’s the smartest, Cameron's the sensitive one, Michael's the funniest and I would say that I'm the most athletic.
Cameron: I would have to say that both Michael and Nathan are the funny [ones], Zach is the smartest and Nathan is easily the most athletic. I'm the sensitive one—and I take ten years to get ready.
