I have "bacne!"

I have been getting acne on my chest and back and it's really embarrassing. I hardly ever wear tank tops because I'm afraid people will talk about my back. Is this normal? What should I do to prevent pimples from coming out on my chest and back?
Hey girl, acne on your back or “bacne” is totes normal so no need to be embarrassed. Unfortunately, all forms of acne are a part of growing up, we all get ‘em in some way or form and there’s no miracle treatment to make them disappear instantly and forever.
What you can do, however, is treat the acne you have and prevent it in the future. By keeping your back clean, using spot treatment and managing your risks, you can take a step toward a clean ‘n clear future.
You’re Not Alone
First thing first: realize there’s nothing to be self-conscious about. Most girls get acne in some form, and many get bacne too. Know what you’ve got is completely normal and unfortunately just comes with the age.
Don’t sweat wearing tank tops because believe me when I say that bacne you're so worried about? Other people hardly notice it.
Clean Queen
The way to take care of your skin, however? Keeping it clean! Start a skin regiment. Be sure to wash your face and back when you shower. Keep your eye out for special back scrubs meant for broken out skin at your local drug store and know you can use the spot treatment cream you use for your face (Neutrogena’s On the Spot Acne Treatment, for example) for the individual pimples on your back too.
Risk Management
When it comes to preventing acne, it’s all about avoiding greasy foods, drinking plenty of water/fluids (perf for keeping you hydrated this hot summer too!) and managing the stress in your life. While these things don’t guarantee you’ll be pimple free, they’ll def help lower the chance and maybe severity of the break outs you have.
So the lesson here? Be confident, keep your skin clean and lower your risks. Acne may be a part of growing up no one likes, but there’s no reason you have to let it get in the way of living your life.
Infinite xoxo’s,
Alyssa B.
