First Kiss Fears

There’s this boy. He likes me a lot and I like him a lot. I am going into sixth grade and I’ve known him since second grade. I’m not so sure about rushing into dating or anything and he isn't really either. We've hugged and he's been to parties twice at my house. I think I'm like, head over heels in love—at least I FEEL like it. He's that crazy funny kid I can be myself around.
 
Am I too young to be feeling this way? We’re AMAZING friends. I can tell him anything. I feel like I even wanna have my my FIRST KISS with him! But are we too young?
That’s super-exciting that you have such an amazing friend in your life who you feel comfortable around. First kisses are a big deal, girlie, and no one can tell you when you’re ready. It’s important to give it some serious thought and make sure you’re totally ready before going there. And make sure he’s ready, too! It can be awkward to talk about, but it might be best to talk about it with him first and let him know you’re ready to lock lips.
You might find that you’re both on the same page and he’s been stressing about this, too. As long as you’re both ready, go for it! But if neither of you wants to rush into anything, it may be best to wait awhile ‘til you’re definitely ready. You have plenty of time for that first kiss with the right guy.
