I Need Cash for Clothes
Make a game plan
Before you go shopping, it's always best to set a budget. Then make a list of items you absolutely need, such as jeans and a jacket. Shop for classic items that won't go out of style so you can wear 'em forever. Trendy clothes only last a season. A pair of dark rinse boot-cut jeans will always be in style.
Shop thrift stores
Yeah, I know what you're thinking: “Ew. Gross.” But it's not. Thrift stores are great places to find great clothes for cheap. You can also find unique and vintage pieces no one else will have. If you're lucky (and patient), you can even find some designer digs for less than half the usual price. Just make sure the zipper works, don't forget to check for holes and stains and wash before wearing!
Lend a hand
Your parents are probably even more stressed out about your family's money situation that you are. You can get a side job babysitting or tutoring to pay for things you want, like mp3s and posters. If you can't get a job, offer to watch your younger siblings and clean around the house for free. Trust me, they'll appreciate your help and you'll feel fab about doing good deeds.
