Why is wearing a pad so uncomfortable?

Whenever that "time-of-the-month" comes around, I always have issues with my pad. It rubs me the wrong way, literally! Is there anything I can do to make it feel better?
Don’t worry girl, we’ve all been there! When you first start your period it’s totally normal to feel uncomfortable wearing a pad, but there are loads of ways to avoid that diaper feel.
Find the perfect fit
First of all, make sure ya wear the right sized pad. Pads come in different sizes according to period flow. You don’t need to wear a big pad that makes you feel uncomfortable if you have a light flow, sometimes a panty liner is okay too.
Wear the right undies
Every girl has to get herself a pair of period panties, and that’s because sometimes, if your underwear is too small, pads don’t fit properly. Pads are generally one size fits all (depending on flow), but your panties are a lot smaller than your mom’s! So sometimes, especially if you wear thongs, pads bunch up and just feel weird.
Place your pad perfectly
Like the Goldilocks story you have the get it “just right!” If it’s too far front or too far back it can give you a killer wedgie, so make sure it’s right in the middle where you won’t feel it.
Try tampons?
If you really don’t like the way pads feel, try tampons. Girls are scared of applying tampons, but if you use them properly you don’t feel anything and it can be way more comfortable! If you’re uncomfortable wearing tampons for the first time read the directions on the box and ask someone to stand outside the door and talk you through it.
Hope that helps, and don’t worry, when you get older you’ll get more and more comfortable with your time of the month!
