Squee! My BF dropped the L-bomb in an email. Does he mean it?
My BF sent me an e-mail and signed the message, “Love, John.” I was stunned because he’s never said that to me before. Does he mean it?
Dave: The written word often carries more weight than something spoken. It’s not like he was caught up in the moment and it just slipped out of his mouth. Doubt it was a typo. He must have feelings for you. Apparently, the Beatles were wrong—all you need is love…and a well-reasoned explanation for why you expressed the sentiment.
Bill: He probably means it (unless Cybercupid is inside his computer controlling spellcheck). Play it cool, and see if he makes it a habit of using the L word. He took a big step, so why not treat it as an unspoken gift instead of a potential mistake? Maybe you can snail mail him some love back.
