3 ways to stop school stress before it starts!

Starting school after a blissful summer of sleeping, sunning and swimming can be totally stressful. We know how demanding it is to keep up with homework, extracurriculars and your BFFs. The trick is to tackle tiring troubles early--don’t let the pressure build up to the point of a meltdown. Here are three easy tips that’ll help keep you anxiety-free even in the toughest situations.

Tip #1: Keep a journal
It might seem kind of silly at first, but writing down what’s going on can be a total stress-buster. Getting a chance to write down your feelings, what’s bothering you or just how you day went helps you re-examine where your stress is coming from and reflect on ways to deal with it. Bonus: Head to a bookstore and pick out a cute journal--you’ll love taking a few minutes to scrawl stories in such an adorable diary.

Tip #2: Try something new
While there’s no denying schoolwork is important and should take up some of your time, don’t miss out on trying things that aren’t academic. Try out a new sport, join a club or pick up an instrument. Spending a little time away from the books will help keep the work from getting too intense. Plus, you’ll make new friends along the way.

Tip #3: Catch some beauty sleep
You’ve heard it before, but sleep really does make a huge difference. You’ll be more alert and more productive. Your memory will be upper and you’ll reduce your risk for depression. That’s something we can smile about
