Kick back before school with Leo Howard

Nothing makes us swoon here at GL like a guy who gets us. Leo Howard, 14, from Disney XD’s Kickin' It, is that guy!

We caught up with the cutie and asked him some tough questions about going back to classes and how we can all kick those BTS fears before the first bell. Read his amazing tips and get ready to start the year off with a new celeb crush.

GL: What’s the best piece of advice you can give other teens about being confident on the first day of school?
Leo: Being confident is the key to life. Don't be afraid to be you! I'm super different from a lot of kids my age with style and personality and I'm OK with it. And if you are OK with it, everyone else will be too. Just be yourself.

What about if you’re the new kid in class?
Don't give in to all the cliques and popularity. It means nothing. I know super popular guys and, guess what? They’re just normal people, too.

Any advice for handling a bully at school?
That's the worst. I was bullied in first grade and it's definitely not fun. But always tell somebody instead of holding it in. Communicate with people and just say, “Hey, I'm being bullied. I need help.”

We’ve all been there: We trip down the stairs in front of our crush, walk out of the bathroom with toilet paper stuck to our shoe. Any advice for bouncing back from an embarrassing school moment?
I'm like the king of being clumsy, so I know about all of that. If you’re OK with being clumsy it's funny. But if you are super embarrassed, people are going to laugh at you. So make a joke about it and people will laugh with you. I'll always trip and say something funny like, “Hey, everybody look. There is a step there. Next time somebody is walking over there don't trip.”

Well said, Leo! Be sure to check out this cutie in Kickin' It on Disney XD.
