5 tricks for packing the perf gym bag

1. Always, always, always stock up on the deodorant.
Sure, it’s a drag to forget your sports bra or t-shirt or socks, but feelin’ like you’ve gotta spend the rest of the day sweaty is the worst.

2. Brace yourself with backups.
That means tampons, socks, hair ties, sports bra, and any other essentials you might need. Then, make a point to never to use them. Sounds crazy, but one day you’ll forget your socks and be happy you had a spare pair. But if you use ’em tomorrow? You might just be sockless for your big game.

3. Load in the sunscreen.
This is a hands-down non-negotiable. Dump the excuses (“I don’t burn!” “It’s fall!”) and toss a stick or tube of SPF 30 in your bag—ASAP.

4. Pack those snacks.
While orange slices make a fab mid-game snackeroo, it’s always key to have a couple Luna Bars or small packs of almonds handy.
5. Toss in a couple feel-good musts.
A tiny bottle of facial lotion, some makeup-removing wipes, Band-Aids, a hairbrush or comb, a soft headband for days your hair won’t cooperate, etc.
