ABC's The Revolution: 4 Things I learned while shopping with the most famous man in fashion

Have you been watching ABC’s The Revolution? While every episode is chock full of change-your-life inspiration and out-of-the-box motivational tips, we can’t wait for Thursday’s edition, featuring mother-daughter heroes Jennifer Hopkins and Alexis DeGeorge. On Thursday’s show, Alexis will be granted the dream of a lifetime: a dress shopping trip accompanied by none other than Tim Gunn, one of the biggest names in today’s fashion world. Squee!

We chatted up Alexis to get the dish on the 4 most important things she learned from Tim:

1. Be honest. “Tim taught me that you need to be yourself. Be honest with what you like and dislike, because fashion is all about expressing your personality through your clothing.”

2. Step out of your comfort zone.
“You need to be willing to take fashion risks. Sometimes when you’re working with someone that knows what will and what will not be good for you or look good on you, you need to trust their opinion.”

3. Dress for your shape. “I realized that since I have a smaller bust, strapless dresses look best on me. And since I carry most of my weight in my waist, it’s best for me to wear flowy dresses.”

4. Have fun. “One piece of advice I’d pass onto others from this experience is to just be confident and have fun when it comes to fashion. It’s all about you!”

Tune in with us on Thursday, March 1 at 2p EST on ABC to follow the rest of Alexis’ story!
