Hanukkah how-to: Play dreidel like a pro


If you didn't grow up celebrating Hanukkah...or even if you did, and you just can't remember what those Hebrew letters stand for on the bitty little dreidel, Howcast is coming to the rescue! Watch the video below to learn how to play dreidel, but first, a few facts to get ya started...

- The letters on the dreidel are Nun, Gimmel, Hay and Shin, which stand for "a great miracle happened here." 
- Playing dreidel was one of the ways Jews many hundreds of years ago subverted crackdowns on religious observance. Playing with a top helped teach the Torah to the unintiated, without looking like they were studying a forbidden text.
