Start your morning like Olympian Gabby Douglas

Gabby Douglas is a busy babe: She's got workouts to do, magazine covers to be on and you know, just a lil' somethin' called the 2016 Olympic Games to compete in. How does she get it all done? It's likely that her smooth morning routine is what sets her up for such success. Thankfully, she shared her routine and go-to life hacks so that you can integrate into your routine now *and* take 'em with you into the school year.

1. Amazing legs are a hop and a squat away. Gabby wakes up at 7 a.m. (OMG!) and starts each morning with a workout. We know that getting out of your cozy bed to partake in physical activity doesn't sound appealing, so here's G's secret: You don’t have to leave the comfort of your bedroom for gymnast-worthy legs.

Life Hack: Gabby says to find some free space in your bedroom for the ultimate squats. Place your hands on your head and bend into a deep squat. Add a hop on the way up as you bring yourself back to a standing position. Do three sets of 10-20 reps and then admire your hard work while shaving during your morning shower—Gab *loves* the way the Venus Swirl moves like no other to catch tough to reach spots.

2. Know what fuels you. It's morning rituals that keep this Olympian fueled and focused throughout the day. And in addition to her favorite hearty breakfast of oatmeal or organic cereal, Gabby recommends finding a signature drink to help you start the morning with plenty of antioxidants.

Life Hack: Swap your cold brew for a cup of tea. The switch seems drastic, but not when you have Gab's grandmother's special recipe: Mix red berry tea with a splash of lemon, honey and apple cider vinegar—yum!

3. Practice makes perfect. Gabby is a morning person, but she still knows the importance of prep-work, especially when she has to make it out the door on time for practice.

Life Hack: Gear up the night before and pack your bag with your all-around favorites. Gabby never leaves the house without tape, extra hair ties and clips, plenty of water and, of course, her favorite sunnies.

4. Let your morning set you up for a successful day. G's morning routine helps lead the path to a healthy, productive and yes, fun, rest of the day, whether it’s prepping a delicious lunch or playing with her cat after she gets home from training.

Life Hack: Ditch the takeout and take a page from Gabby’s book and make her favorite lunchtime recipe, this fully-loaded salad: kale, spinach, red leaf lettuce, egg, avocado, tomatoes, cucumbers, roasted chicken and honey mustard dressing. For a DIY snack to boost your energy during the day, melt dark chocolate and dip almonds in it—delish!

Which one of Gabby's life hacks will *you* be using to make your mornings—and your day—smoother?
