Icy Eyes

By now you've probably heard the news...we've got the winter blues. But this time we're talking eyeshadow, sistah. The ultimate eye trend this winter is icy blue hues. Here's how to get bold blue peepers without going overboard.
Three rules to ALWAYS follow:
1. Never match your shadow to your eye color. We want you to stand out, not your makeup.
2. Don't match your shadow to your clothes. It tends to look a little tacky, especially with a vibrant color like blue.
3. Subtlety is the name of the game, sistah!
Fair Skin
Blondes with fair skin should stick to green-blue   shades like turquoise and teal. Fair skinned brunettes should pick a blue hue with purple undertones. You don't want to overpower your milky skin tone. Use small amount of shadow for a big impact! Golden Teal Eyeshadow, $6, FreeSpiritBeauty.com
Medium Skin
Darker tones like navy blue look fab on medium skin tones. Icy, silvery-blues are another go-to hue for medium skinned gals. Your skin is light enough to pull of a slightly darker color and dark enough to pull of a slightly lighter color, so experiment! Milani Eyeshadow in Blue Ice, $8, AmericanRx.com

Dark Skin
Girls with darker skin tones can pull off the most vibrant shades of blue like aqua, cobalt and royal blue. These bright hues will pop against your skin for a dramatic and daring effect. CoverGirl Eye Enhancers Eyeshadow in Aqua Paradise, $4, Drugstore.com
