The sneaky way to get the popular guy to notice you

I am not very popular, but I have a huge crush on a really popular guy. We have one class together, so we talk sometimes. How can I get him to notice me outside the classroom?

BILL: Einstein’s Equation of Accrued Popularity: The sum of a less popular group is equal to the total of one popular person. Since popularity always seeks its equal, you can match this dude’s total by hanging out with a greater number of slightly less popular people. He’ll start to notice that you’re in demand and, voila—he’ll deem you his popular equal. This is how Einstein, a noted nerd, was able to date cheerleaders.

DAVE: Don’t put so much emphasis on popularity. Popularity does not always equate to quality. With music, for example, what is popular is often not what is best. Pop songs are meant to appeal to so many different types of fans that uniqueness is lost in the process. It’s much the same with people. Someone who is truly her own person will go about her business without regard to whether she is appealing to the masses—and she is often much more interesting than someone with widespread appeal. In my opinion, you have more going for you than those bland popular chicks and, hopefully, your potential beau feels the same way.
