Life's a Circus!

There's something about the circus that makes people smile. Whether it's the clowns or the animals, I'm not sure. What I do know is the impressive circus that has been traveling the globe for 23 years comes with a unique twist. Cirque du Soleil isn't just clowns climbing out of unusually small cars, but a mixture of music, dance and insane stunts.

I recently caught Cirque du Soleil's show KOOZA and was pleasantly surprised. What I thought was going to be another Barnum and Bailey performance turned out to be the most entertaining show I have ever seen!

The show encompassed the journey of a man being taken into an imaginary world of song, dance and exotic characters, essentially returning him to childhood. Unlike the typical circus many of us are used to seeing, KOOZA captures the art of both clowning and acrobatics with the unusual addition of live vocals, instrumentals and dancers.

Acts include three girls who can contort their bodies into unimaginable shapes, two giant hamster wheels containing men jumping rope and doing flips, bicycles being ridden across a tightrope while carrying a man balanced on a chair, unicyclists, a man balancing atop a 23 foot tower of chairs, magic tricks and so much more!

So, what can I say? I'm obsessed. Following the show I bought the DVD so I could re-live the tricks again and again. Not up your alley? There are plenty of others to choose from! Check out cirquedusoleil.com for all of the deets on which shows might be coming to a town near you!

Have you been to any Cirque du Soleil shows? Which one would you want to see? Blog about it, babes.
