American Idol Recap: Saving Grace

Starting out the show with the idols performing a hit from the movie Flashdance, last night’s results show was super entertaining.

First to face the fear of elimination was Allison Irahetta, who thankfully discovered she would be returning next week. Adam Lambert then found out that he would be returning as well. Two down and five to go. My anxiety skyrocketed—who would be leaving tonight? It was def a tough call.
Ryan soon broke the news to Anoop that he would be in the bottom 3, yet again. After such a solid performance? Poor Anoop! The idols were then able to relax for a bit and watch an awesome performance by former Idol, Jennifer Hudson, singing “If This Isn’t Love” (a single off of her new debut album).
Up next to face Seacrest were Kris Allen and Lil Rounds. I was not surprised to find that Lil would be in the bottom 3 and Kris was sent back to safety. It would now be between Danny Gokey and Matt Giraud, two of my fave guys. Matt ultimately rejoined the bottom 3 for another week surely relieved, Danny sat back down.
Ryan then sent Anoop back to sit safely. While Lil and Matt nervously waited to hear the results, Miley Cyrus took the stage singing “The Climb”. She gave a powerful performance that def put my mind at ease for a good few minutes.
Who would be going home: I held my breath hoping that Matt would be the one to stay, but it was Lil who was asked to take a seat with the others. Just as I was about to cry my eyes out and say goodbye to Matt Giraud, the judges decided to save him. I couldn’t believe my ears! I was totally elated and so were Matt and the rest of the top 7.

Did you girlies think that Matt should have been saved? Do you think America got it right this week? Share your thoughts!
