The Hills Recap: Sparks Fly

Hey Stylistas! We opened The Hills this week with plenty of mischief as the girls crashed Brody’s boys trip to Hawaii. Even though Lo, Stephanie and Lauren all agreed on the trip, I can’t help but think the whole thing was really just Audrina’s way of getting close to Brody!

First, we check in on Heidi and Spencer who are navigating through a Hollywood Barnes and Noble trying to pick out a book simple enough for Spencer to read. Heidi springs on him that ex-boyfriend Colby will be in town for a few days with his chick. As you can imagine, Spencer is less than happy about that.

When double date night arrives, Heidi is super friendly to Colby and his girl, while Spencer is his usually jerky self. He makes a non-stop wave of jokes about Colby’s religious beliefs, which include no dancing, no drinking and absolutely no sex till marriage.

By Heidi’s request, Spencer invites Colby out to the gym to do a little boxing and chat man-to-man. Colby does his best to explain his beliefs to a stubborn Spencer. Sorry, Colby, but your ways will never sink in to Spencer! So, the Flesh-Colored Bearded One tells Colby, “Find me the Bible verse where it says you can’t have sex before marriage.” That’s a challenge Colby is more than willing to take on.

Back on the beach, Lauren, Lo, Steph and Audrina are all getting ready to go out. Steph catches Audrina on the balcony and corners her about Brody. Audrina looks way uncomfortable, but Stephanie just keeps yapping—typical Pratt!

At a beautiful Hawaiian beach dinner, the sparks really fly between Audrina and Brody! The two lovebirds eye-flirt across the table the whole night, till someone finally asks what’s going on. Audrina admits that yeah, she has a crush on Brody. Now, the ball is in Brody’s court! He has a girlfriend, but what will he do?

Audrina sneaks away from dinner to call everybody’s favorite hippie, Justin Bobby. She chats for a second, but hangs up when Brody walks into her room. It’s super weird to see Bromance Brody being a totally sweet guy, but he is! He and Audrina have a really sincere heart-to-heart, and he’s lets her know that if something should happen it should be because they want it to, not because everyone else is pushing it. Then they both smile the two hugest Kool-Aid smiles ever. Uh oh.

Checking back in LA for a minute, Colby and Spencer are still having words over the Bible. Colby produces verse after verse to support his lifestyle choice, but Spencer doesn’t care. Come on, Colby, trying to preach goodness to Spencer is like asking a horse not to eat hay.

The minute Colby and his girlfriend leave town, Spence is all over Heidi telling her to go be with someone like that if she wants “Leave it to beaver.” I agree completely with Heidi—for once—who says, “Spencer, you just don’t get it.”

In Hawaii, Brody wakes up and chats with Frankie and his boys, who just saw Audrina coming out of his room! He tells them he messed up and cheated on his girlfriend. Oh boy, Brody. What happened to waiting out the peer pressure?

In the girls’ suite, the ladies are up and ready to gossip. Info slips via loudmouths Lo and Steph that Audrina spent the night in Brody’s room. But sleepy Audrina just says she spent the night in his room and that’s all there is. BTW, LC, who hasn’t looked thrilled this entire romance, looks just about sick to her stomach. She’s always been Brody’s special girl, even if they weren’t dating—could she be jealous now? What about Jade, Brody’s girlfriend? Lo reminds Audrina that she’s a little nutty and might be looking for her in LA. Audrina closes the convo saying, “Good! Let her come after me. Let’s start a war.” Whoa.

Sure Audrina followed her heart but do you think that was the right thing to do? How about LC getting so upset over this new budding relationship? Is she jealous? And what about Spencer’s Bible quoting weekend? Did it have any effect on him at all?
