Meanies are the pits. Keep your head up, she is looking to get a reaction out of you. I know it’s easier said than done but you need to show that you are the bigger person. Ignore her and whatever you do, DO NOT stoop to her level. Don’t argue with her, don’t spread rumors about her and don’t talk about her. This will only legitimize her behavior. It will definitely be difficult but eventually she will stop.

It is important to remember that all that matters is the fact that YOU know what she is saying is untrue. It does hurt to have people believe things that are blatantly untrue about you, but as long as you are true to yourself and show that whatever this girl says doesn’t bother you, people will take your cue and ignore whatever she says.

Unfortunately everyone loves a bit of gossip and you showing that you are upset will only perpetuate it. If she reaches a level where the things she is saying are disrespectful and harmful, I would simply and politely say “Listen, the things you are saying are hurtful to me and I don’t appreciate it.” If she continues then bring it to the attention of an adult, there is no reason that you should have to feel victimized at school.
