Low-Maintenance Summer Hair

My current haircut is so high maintenance! It takes me forever to get ready.

I really need a cut that's easy to take care of and cute for summer.

Help!

We know, girl. Some cuts are just not worth the hassle! We've got the perfect solution for you: the inverted bob. It's versatile and can be cut to flatter any diva's face. It's super cute and totally low maintenance – perf for summer!

Why it's great...

*Super easy breezy. It's a shower 'n' go kind of cut. No blow dryer necessary, if you nab the right version for YOUR hair.
*Totally trendy. Just take a look at the most recent celeb pics. They've caught on. Why don't you?!
*Perf for summer. Not only is it low maintenance for your busy summer calendar, it also keeps you cool. It keeps those strands off your shoulders and back and has an effortlessly beachy feel to it.

If you...

Are not ready for a short 'do

So, you've had long hair your whole life? Understandably, it can be hard to part with. If ya wanna go shorter by a bit, start off with a "lob" – a long bob. Tell your stylist to go about shoulder length with it and just slightly longer in the front than in the back. A li’l layering will create natural movement and texture. It won't be a drastic change but it'll be just enough for summer.

Have a round or square face

Chin-length bobs that wrap right around the face tend to make it look rounder or make more square. To counteract this effect, go with a long, side swept bang. This will elongate your face, cut out any volume around the cheeks, and soften angles. Make sure it's not something that's constantly going to be in your eyes. A good way to avoid this is to ask for wispy side bangs that can be pushed to either side. This makes it easier to style. And if you'd like, you can still opt for a longer bob since this will also work toward elongating the face.

Have curly or wavy hair

A bob will work on curly or wavy hair, it’s just gonna look diff. If you're a wavy girl, opt for a shorter, chin length style. This will help accentuate your wave and give you a totally retro feel. So cool! Curly girlies should go with something shoulder length. Your hair has bounce to it so it will naturally creep up a little shorter. Ask your stylist to add layers to tresses to avoid your cut getting bulky.
