End of School Countdown Chain!

Hey sick-of-school sistahs, need an extra boost to get you through the last few weeks of school? Remember the countdown-to-Christmas chain you used to make? We revised it!
Craft up this simple yet super cute countdown-to-summer chain to remind you just how close you are to the glorious days o' fun in the sun! Since this craft is oh-so-easy to make it's a fun activity to do with the kids you're babysitting. They'll love seeing the days of summer draw nearer and nearer, too!

This may be the only time we're going to tell ya to cut up your old already-read GL issues (gasp!) but it's a totally useful way to recycle them instead of just throwing them away so we're gonna do it in the name of Mother Nature!

What You'll Need:

Old magazines
Scissors
Tape or glue

What You'll Do:

Cut up strips of colorful, bright, patterned or anything striking in the mags that remind you of summer! You can come up with a color scheme and alternate your fave colors, keep it totally random or creating your own design. Cut each strip about four inches long and one inch wide. You can make it longer or shorter and each strip doesn't have to be exact so don't worry about measuring it, just try to make sure they're about the same length.

Then, make a ring with each strip. To do this you tape or glue the ends together of one strip and keep adding on to it. Put as many strips on the chain as you have days of school left. Hang it on your calendar, bed post or keep it on your dresser. Rip one off each morning or night and see how fast the time is
flying!

You can also use construction paper, newspaper or print out pictures of you and your friends to add to the chain. Use your imagination and have fun with it!

Before you know it, your chain will slither down and you'll soaking up the sun! It's about time, right?!
