Can exercise relieve PMS symptoms?

Is this true? And if so, are there any other exercises that help you with your period?

-Cramped Up

Hey girl! This is totally true, just one more reason exercise rocks! When you have cramps, you might not feel like doing anything but curling up until your period is over, but moving around can really help ease the pain.

Depending on how bad your cramps are, start light with a brisk walk around the block, or take a spin on a bike. If you're feeling up to it, more fast paced exercise like running can really help too.

You can also try some yoga poses right in your bedroom. Lay on your back with your knees bent, then bring your knees into your chest and wrap your arms around them. Hold the pose for five seconds and repeat it ten times.

Next, get on your hands and knees and sit back until your butt is on to of your feet. Keep your arms stretched out in front of you and your head down. Hold the pose for as long as you want and repeat it as much as you need to.

Cramps are a total bummer, but staying active and stretching can keep them at bay and help you feel much better!
