The easiest minimal makeup routine for Zoom

Image: instagram.com/wanderabode

We've all been there — rolling out of bed right before online school starts, not having enough time to put on makeup and cringing at ourselves on the Zoom self-view. Don't worry, it's not just you! Webcams are notorious for distorting appearances.

Luckily, you don't need a full face of makeup to look fab on camera. This minimal makeup routine only takes a few minutes and is perfect for those days when you don't feel like piling on the products but still want to look put together.

Step 1: Concealer

The camera quality on Zoom isn't great, so your classmates won't be able to see straight down to your pores. That means you can skip the foundation. A swipe of concealer under your eyes (and a dot on any blemishes) will smooth out your complexion and brighten up your skin. Blend it with a makeup sponge for a seamless look. e.l.f. Camo Concealer provides full coverage for dark circles and pesky pimples.

Step 2: Powder

A light dusting of setting powder will keep your concealer from creasing and cover up any discoloration. Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder comes in a variety of shades to fit every skin tone. If you want extra coverage, try a powder foundation instead.

Step 3: Bronzer

It seems like every time I open my webcam, I turn into Casper the Friendly Ghost! *Not* a cute look. To avoid appearing washed out, add bronzer to your cheekbones, forehead, and jawline. If you're feeling extra fancy, take a fluffy eyeshadow brush and add bronzer to your creases. It'll define your lids and make your eyes pop — no eyeshadow palette necessary! Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer smells ahh-mazing and will give your cheeks a healthy, bronzed glow.

Step 4: Mascara

Need to look awake and alert for class? Curl your lashes and add a generous coat of mascara, focusing the product on the outer edge of your lashline to make your eyes look more open. L'Oréal Voluminous Lash Paradise adds volume and length to create feathery, dramatic lashes.

Step 5: Lipstick or gloss

One of the best tips to make it look like you *actually* tried with your makeup? A bold lippie! Try a fun red or berry tone to add definition to your look. If you're not a lipstick kind of gal, or if a poppin' lip is a little too extreme for geometry class, opt for a tinted gloss or stain instead. It will hydrate and add a subtle wash of color to your lips. Revlon Kiss Cushion Lip Tint gives a natural, balmy sheen for a just-blotted lip look.
