Beauty 911: How can I play up my eyes, without using mascara?

The prob: I’m 13 and not allowed to wear mascara. What are some cool ways that I can rock just eyeshadow?

Mascara may be a beauty staple, but there are tons of super-cute and easy ways to draw attention to those peepers without glossing your lashes. We gotcha covered, girl.

Vary the Hues
A quad eyeshadow palette is your new best friend. Using an angled brush, gently dip the end of the brush in water so that it’s slightly damp. Apply the darkest shadow in your palette to the brush, and sweep straight across your upper lash line.

Gently smudge with a Q-tip for a softer look. To create depth, apply the medium shade in the crease of your lid, just below your brow bone. Blend the two with a wash of the second lightest shade over your full lid. Amazing.

Opt for Bold Colors
Don’t be afraid to try fun colors. Metallics and brights look fantastic worn alone or when paired with neutral shadows. Try rocking daring pinks or peachy golds for a perfect party look. Just stop the shadow at the crease of your lid to avoid looking too Gaga-esque, OK?
