Twists are the new braids: Rock this retro look right now

We totally swooned when we saw the perfectly coiffed Lela Rose models sauntering down the runway at NYFW. The architectural twist crafted by Ted Gibson is wayyy easier than it looks—and totally perfect for all a spring garden party. Snag the cinchy how-to, below!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

-Smoothing serum

-Hair elastics

-Bobby pins

STEP NO. 1

Smooth a little bit of smoothing serum through damp hair and blowdry using a round brush.

STEP NO. 2

Sweep hair into a deep side part and pull your mane over to one shoulder (the side with the most hair). Gather hair into a low ponytail and secure with an elastic about 5 inches away from your scalp.

STEP NO. 3

Begin twisting your ponytail into itself, working from the bottom up. Let the hair fold over itself when you reach the top of your head.

STEP NO. 4

Secure the entire length of the twist with bobby pins, being sure to tuck and hide the hair elastic.

STEP NO. 5

Finish with a strong hold hairspray, and you’re set!
