Ed. obsession: Get gorgeous tea--can I sip my way to clear skin? Let's see!

I’m a tea drinker—all day, every day. In the a.m. I sip on something with a jolt of caffeine (Earl Grey, yum), followed by a few doses of healthy green tea during the day and then finally a calming cup of chamomile before bed.

So on my last trip to the tea aisle I was delighted to find The Republic of Tea’s line of “Be Well Red” teas: a collection of health-boosting red rooibos teas that each claim to deliver something special: great skin, relaxation, energy, smarts and more (view the full line here).

But it was the pretty pink canister screaming “get gorgeous” that caught my eye, of course. I was intrigued. On closer inspection, I learned that the tea promises to help deliver clear skin thanks to a blend brimming with antioxidants—skin’s best friend.

I snatched it immediately and have been sipping on the daily ever since.

So…does it work, you’re probably wondering? Well, it depends on what you’re expecting. Tea won’t zap your zits and deliver glowing skin over night, but getting a daily dose of all those herbs and antioxidants is super essential to your skincare regimen. Plus, doing something special for yourself every day (like having a nice cup of skin-boosting tea every a.m.) puts you in the mindset to pamper yourself and makes you more aware of your skin’s health—which might help ya remember to wipe off your makeup every night before bed or keep up with your weekly masque.

The bottom line: It’s delicious (a flowery and sweet blend of organic rooibos leaf, orange peel, hibiscus and chamomile) and full of antioxidants that’ll make you feel and look better all around. Start sipping!
