5 totally natural ways to ditch acne scars

Everybody who's ever had a nasty whitehead knows that trying not to pop pimples is hard. What's even harder? Getting rid of acne scars left over from that zit you messed with. Unfortunately, those scars are not going to go away on their own, so we've rounded up the best natural home remedies to have you fresh-faced in no time.

Lemons

Lemons are a natural bleaching agent. Apply lemon juice to your scars with a cotton ball and let it dry before rinsing your face with water. Bonus tip: Doing this twice a day speeds up results (just remember to moisturize).

Almonds

Almond oil can reduce acne scars and improve skin texture. Take several drops of almond oil and massage it on to your face in circular motions with your fingertips. Leave it on for about 20 minutes, then wipe and wash your face with warm water. Do this at night, once a day.

Aloe Vera

To lighten acne scars, extract Aloe Vera from a fresh leaf and apply it toyour scars directly. After 15 minutes, wash it off with water.

Coconut Oil

Massage warm coconut oil on your face for 2-3 minutes, then let it sit for 15 minutes to help fight scarring. To make it even more effective, try spreading a steamed towel over your face for 2 minutes before washing the oil off of your face.

Turmeric

Turmeric is a natural antiseptic herb commonly used in cooking–so check your kitchen cabinet! Take equal amounts of turmeric powder, sandalwood powder and neem leaf powder and add milk to create a paste. Apply the paste on acne scars for about 20 minutes, then wash your face with water. Try doing this treatment every few days for several weeks in a row, and you'll most likely see a big improvement.
