How to: the prettiest party look *ever*

The holiday season means that it's time for a *lot* of special things: peppermint hot chocolate, decking the halls and spending time with the ones we love. It *also* means that it's time to bust out brand new makeup looks—and we're not talking about those soft and subtle spring vibes! If you want to look as festive as you feel, you've gotta rock a look as bold as you: red lip, cateye, killer brows and, of course, *all* the glitter!

1. The lips
Pull a T. Swift and rock that red lipstick, girl! A beautiful, berry shade lipstick will be reminiscent of the bright, lively reds that are all around us during the holidays. Grab a lippy in your fave finish (glossy, matte or even metallic) and swipe it on. If you want to be extra precise, start with a lip primer and line with a matching lip liner.

2. The eyes
Start with a warm-colored eye shadow—like a warm brown, orange or red—and apply it all over your lid and into your crease. Don't forget to blend using a clean eyeshadow brush in circular motions. Next, apply a slightly darker color into your crease for some definition. Then, add a sparkly gold eyeshadow over your lid. It may be easier to pat this shadow on with your finger than to use a brush so that you get the maximum amount of glitter! After you're happy with the shadow, finish off this eye look with a black cateye. If you're not sure how to master your eyeliner, check out this tutorial. (The trick? Short, quick strokes!) Don't forget the mascara!

3. The cheekbones (aka: highlighter time!)
If there's a time to go overboard with highlighter, it's definitely the holidays. Don't be afraid to double up on highlighters to get a complex, colorful-looking shine. Add some highlighter on your cheekbones, brown bones, near your tear ducts and down your nose—literally anywhere light hits your face naturally. For something extra special, grab chunky glitter and apply it to the tops of your cheekbones using eyelash glue. We recommend gold glitter to accent your eye.

4. The cheeks
You don't want to look too red, of course, but a nice flush in your cheeks goes perfectly with a festive, winter look! Apply a tiny dab of your favorite blush to the apples of your cheeks, blend, and you're done!

What do you think of this party look GL girls?  Will you try a new look this holiday season?
