Your summer skin sitches, solved...bring on warm weather!

Are you ready to have fun in the sun this summer? Before you run out the front door, jump in the lake and tan on the shore line, consider this: your skin. The sun can be harsh on your bod, so you have to take care of it! If you're worried, don't be. We're here with a few tips to help you out.

SPF rules to live by
Sunscreen is rule number one as it helps protect your skin from sunburns. It now comes in lotions, creams, ointments and sprays. But what kind is the best? Well, that depends on you! Is your skin oily? Dry? Do you have lighter skin? Or darker toned skin? Yes, even your skin tone matters! Knowing your skin type, will help you pick out the right type of sunscreen for you. Though there are a few tips for that everyone can follow. One, make sure it has SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of 15 or higher. Two, make sure it is water resistant. Three, the most important step: know your skin type. Make sure the kind you buy is the best kind for you. (Ask a family member for help, if needed.)

But accidents happen
You stayed out in the sun a little too long when you fell asleep on the beach. Now you're a red lobster instead of a bronzed goddess. Quick Fix:Get in the shade now. When you get home, slather some yogurt onto your burn (it’ll soothe your skin). Stick to loose clothes, drink plenty of water and, next time, remember the SPF!

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate...
During the summer months, your skin can dry up. The main reason: dehydration. While, the sun can supply your skin with Vitamin D, too much sun can have it's effects too! But liquids, many, many liquids can help. For best results, we suggest water, coconut water and cucumber juice.

Tanning ... is it worth it?
Here is the thing, babes. tanning is not the best for your skin. In fact, it can be very damaging as it can cause skin cancer, eye damage and premature aging. While, we don't suggest it, if you plan to tan, there is a healthier option, bronzers.  Bronzers are better for you than tanning beds, which we don't recommend at all. So, what is it? Bronzers are a type of lotion, which have a touch of spray tan ingredient in them. After it has been applied, it can give you a quick boost of color. Unlike, tanning beds you are not being exposed to the same dangerous risks. Either way, make sure you read up on tanning before you try it next.

How to actually shave your bikini line:
If you are gonna shave, there are a couple of things you should remember to keep your privates nice ‘n’ healthy. Shaving can cause red bumps and irritate your hair follicles, so be sure to change your razor often to avoid using a dull blade. Soaking in a warm bath beforehand is an easy way to prep your pubic hair for shaving. Avoid working out immediately after you shave because sweat or dirt could enter those pores and cause infection. Tight clothing could lead to uncomfortable chaffing. If you do experience reoccurring razor burn, lay off shaving for a while and let yourself heal.
