6 ways to style metallics this holiday season

If you’re the kind of gal who leaves a little sparkle wherever you go, you’ve got to try the metallic trend for the holidays! Metallics are a great way to take a look from drab to fab, and whether you’re looking for a subtle hint of shimmer or a spoonful of glitter to glam up your outfit, here’s our rundown on the best ways to style this season’s shiniest trend.

1. Bomber jackets

You can find metallic bomber jackets popping up everywhere in all sorts of stunning colors. Style a trendy metallic bomber jacket with a pair of ripped jeans, your fave sneaks and some cute shades for an outfit that’s sure to shine!

2. Chokers

Tons of celebs have been recently rocking chokers in all sorts of styles: velvet, leather, lace, you name it! Our fave take on the trend? Metallic. Whether you choose elegant rose gold or edgy gunmetal, you’ll have a perf addition to your holiday outfit. For a chic minimalist look, throw on a metallic choker with your fave black and white outfit for an instant level-up.

3. Skirts

Don’t worry—there are ways to pull off a solid sequined skirt without looking like an actual Christmas ornament. Make sure that your skirt is the highlight of your outfit and don’t overdo it on the accessories.

Pleated metallic skirts can be styled the same way. Choose neutral colors for the main pieces of your outfit like your blouse, cardigan and shoes. Now you’ve got a glam—not gaudy—way to be festive!

4. Handbags

Glam up a neutral outfit by putting all your daily essentials in a dazzling metallic handbag. Use a sparkly satchel to brighten up a darker outfit or to add an elegant finishing touch to a pastel party dress.

5. Heels

You can pair metallic heels with pretty much any outfit and it'll look incredibly fab, but a pair of shimmery shoes is a must-have to spice up a winter party look. Be adventurous and throw on a pair to make your look *pop*.

Not into heels? You can easily jazz up a casual, everyday outfit with a pair of shiny sneaks.

6. Prints

Metallic prints don’t have to look over-bearing. Style a metallic-patterned dress (or a cute pair of printed pants) for a classy, modern look. Metallic accents in prints are a subtle way to sneak a little sparkle into your outfit.
