Must List

LISTEN: Rozzi's "Never Over You" will be stuck in your head all day

Adam Levine knows talent when he sees it. Er, hears it. He's an amazing judge on The Voice, after all.

The Maroon 5 frontman was spot on when he discovered Rozzi in 2012 and selected her as the opening act for the band's Maroon V Tour. And after tours with Owl City and Gavin Degraw, Rozzi has just taken her next big step: dropping her track "Never Over You" which is about—you guessed it—lingering feelings for an ex (all-too relatable, right?!).

"I was at my local coffee shop thinking about...all the problems in my relationship. I was exhausted," Rozzi says in retrospect. "What I found was despite all of the things I was over... I wasn't over him. So I channeled those feelings that day and wrote this song."

RIYL: Halsey, Lorde and Chvrches.

Listen to "Never Over You" below.

Before her debut album drops later this year, get to know Rozzi right now...

On working with Adam Levine...
"I learned so much from Adam. He's so talented and hardworking. I used to perform the Christina Aguilera part on 'Moves Like Jagger' every night on tour and singing with him was like a masterclass. He taught me how to hold an audience's attention and how to perform with confidence."

On new opportunities...
"
I'm beyond grateful for all the opportunities Adam gave me. I think it seemed like a fairytale from the outside because it was in a lot of ways—I mean, I was opening for one of the biggest bands in the world at places like Madison Square Garden, it was insane!"

On finding her voice...
"When my relationship ended I was devastated, but it ended up being this incredible blessing because it forced me to really find myself and find my voice. And I also found a new home at Small Giant/Columbia Records that really helped me in the process."

On writing in weird places...
"Once, I dreamt a song and woke up in the middle of the night to record it on my phone. It didn't seem as genius of an idea when I woke up!"

On dream collabs...
"I love Lizzo—she's so fun and empowering. I love Chris Stapleton too. I'm dying to collaborate with him!"
