After months of anxiously waiting, we were *so* excited to find out that Democratic 2020 presidential candidate (and former Vice President) Joe Biden has selected Kamala Harris as his running mate.

Though Biden and Harris had previously clashed on the debate stage back in 2019, we're so glad these two are coming together on the ticket. Harris is an incredibly accomplished woman whose career includes being California's Attorney General, a United States Senator since 2016 and a 2020 presidential primary candidate. According to NBC News, "Harris has said she was inspired to attend law school after joining civil rights protests with her parents."

If Biden and Harris win the election, Harris would become the nation's first female, first Black and first Asian-American VP. This announcement kicks off the 2020 election cycle for this fall—and as you count down the days until November 3, be sure to seek out ways you can get involved and spread the word to vote (and stay tuned to GL for more info!).

There are only 100 days to go until Election Day. 100 days to get your friends, family, neighbors, and complete strangers to turn out the vote to flip the Senate and elect @JoeBiden to the White House.⁣⁣ ⁣ The stakes could not be higher. The decision voters make on November 3rd will shape the country and the world our children and grandchildren will grow up in. The future of the Supreme Court, health care, the climate crisis, and more are all on the ballot. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ We have a lot of work to do before November 3rd. Let’s register everyone we know to vote, donate to campaigns when we can, and turn out at the ballot box to defeat Donald Trump and elect Joe Biden as President of the United States.
