Niles Fitch, the This Is Us and Miss Virginia actor, has made history as Disney's first live-action Black prince as Prince Tuma in the new Disney+ movie Secret Society of Second-Born Royals. You can watch the trailer for the movie here:

Secret Society of Second-Born Royals follows five royal teenagers who are the second-born child in their families, and thanks to a unique royal gene, each has their own superpower. It's their job to protect their kingdoms, no matter how dangerous.

In an interview with Hollywood Life, Fitch spoke about the importance of Black representation in the entertainment industry, and how his role will give young Black audiences a chance to see themselves onscreen. He says Black Panther positively affected his career and he looks up to Chadwick Boseman.

Fitch says his character, Prince Tuma, is a charismatic, good-spirited character who is a royal superhero. He has to understand his place in the team while trying to figure out his powers.

In an interview with POPSUGAR, Fitch said, "I just can't wait to see the impact it has on boys that look like me, being able to see themselves on TV, because we're more than just what the media shows."

"We're real complex and layered people and I feel like if we were shown more on TV in positive roles, or just roles in general, that wouldn't have to be said. We wouldn't have to say our lives matter. It would be a known thing. It's an amazing thing that I'm doing."
