A network representative recently told Variety that Sonny will in fact resume filming in January as originally planned for season three, this time focusing on the show-within-a-show, So Random!, and will be filled with guest stars, musical performances, comedy sketches and digital shorts.
 
The new move will give a fresh spin on things, allowing Demi the time she needs to get better.
 

In other Sonny news, star Brandon Mychal Smith will be testing his skills-on the ice! He just joined the cast of ABC's new series Skating with the Stars. Tune in for the show's premiere Monday, Nov. 22, at 9 p.m.
